MOD
Description
Your support will be pioneering.
Put simply, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is the organisation that enables the armed services to do their job. But it is much more than that. We are involved in every facet of defence: from implementing international defence policy and meeting government objectives, to providing the weapons that soldiers use and repairing the barracks that they live in.
Success would be impossible without the dedication and commitment of the people behind the scenes who help make it happen – people who are proud to deliver a huge range of general and specialist services at every level of our global organisation.
Join us in a civilian role and, not only will you be contributing to the safety of a nation, you’ll discover the environment, opportunities and foundations to ensure your personal and professional development is thoroughly supported too.
How these roles help
With an annual budget of £16 billion, 43% of the Ministry of Defence’s budget, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is the single biggest purchaser of manufactured goods in the UK. At any one time, its 29,000 staff are managing thousands of contracts, ranging from the purchase and support of submarines and challenger tanks to parts for field radios and surveillance equipment.
Our mission?; to equip and support our Armed Forces for operations now and in the future.
What we can offer
By joining us you’ll embark on a career that offers enormous scope for personal and professional development. Our open, flexible, and creative environment gives you the freedom to acquire multiple skills, the opportunity to gain experience across a whole range of activities, flexibility to move into new roles and even switch careers altogether as our organisation evolves to meet new demands and priorities.
