Job Description

Our client is an industry leader in reclaiming the next generation of silicon wafers and other services. They now require equipment technicians to maintain quality standards and maximise efficiency.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager:

Duties of the role:
• Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance with respect to schedules and procedures, ensuring data is recorded.
• Rectify breakdowns as quickly as possible to minimise downtime.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained whilst work is carried out in a timely manner.
• To diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement repairs, communicate all work carried out with the engineering dept and record all relevant information.
• Analyse data to ensure all equipment at their site operates to the expected standard and carry out remedial work if this is not being achieved.
• To enthusiastically participate in continuous improvement activities, optimising efficiency and reliability.
• To react quickly to any process/quality control concerns ensuring that production targets and quality standards are not compromised.
• To always execute safe working practises ensuring all relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

Candidate Requirements:
• The successful candidate should ideally have served an indentured apprenticeship (electrical mechanical or mechatronics) or hold an ONC/HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years production / process experience would be expected, and experience in a semiconductor / clean room environment would be a distinct advantage.
• A sound understanding of production equipment including control systems and pneumatics would be expected, and strong fault finding and diagnostic skills are essential.
• The candidate should be self-motivated with strong IT and communication skills, have a proactive approach with an ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• A sound understanding of quality control i.e. SPC and 8D’s would also be an advantage.
